Ready for the powder?

It’s official, the lifts are open!

This past weekend was the one we’ve been waiting for since April.  With typical Japanese efficiency, the lifts were opened and the snow was there. Our staff got out early for some turns and celebrated the fact that we live in a powder mecca.

Update from “Powder Paradise”

Growth Continues

The long awaited cafe, The Private Kitchen is nearing completion. We’re releasing an early picture here complete with the Gazebo to get you thinking about the possibilities.

Our other 3 chalets are progressing nicely and our concierge team has been on the ground now for 3 weeks getting things ready for the record number of visitors expected already booked at The Chalets this season. They are excited to begin helping guests really get the most out of their stay here in Powder Paradise.

Concierge Corner

Our team on the ground prides themselves on knowing how to have fun and they want you to benefit from that experience.  We asked them to start out with their Top 5 Tips for Niseko Visitors.  Here’s what they came up with.

1. Scarves are essential. It gets cold here and you really want to keep the wind off your neck.

2. If you have high-cuff shoes, bring them on your trip. Many of the pathways will have snow that is ankle deep or higher.

3. Bring some of your favourite music for your chalet. You will not believe how quiet (peaceful) it is here. There is almost no ambient sound once the river freezes.

4. Leave your shyness about nudity at home. Almost all the onsens (at least the ones we’d like to send you to) have a “birthday suit” only policy. Not to worry, there are separate areas for men and women.

5. Bring some reading material.  Sitting back, watching the snowfall and reading a book or magazine can be just what your aching muscles need after hitting the powder on consecutive days.

The Bonus Tip – Bring your favourite Lip Balm and Moisturizer.  You can buy those things here, but having one you are used to can really help. The low humidity and extreme cold can really affect people who are not used to it. If you happen to forget yours, talk to us and we’ll get you sorted out.

Until next time.

Looking for a holiday?

We have had a record breaking pre-season for bookings and anticipate that most weeks will be close to sold out.  Already the Christmas to New Year and Lunar New Year times are fully booked out (it’s a good thing we’re building more).  If you haven’t reserved your holiday with us, or you want to let your friends share in the good times to be had, contact Steve Reck at steve.reck@nisekoresortsgroup.com quickly to check availability.  We want everyone to feel the rush of thrashing through the powder so contact him soon so you don’t miss out.

Season Forecast – Snow, Snow and Snow

We haven’t heard anyone who isn’t predicting big snow for the winter season and we couldn’t be happier. Our aim this year is to have even more fun than we did last year and we hope that you share that vision. If there is anything we can do to help, make sure you ask us!

We look forward to seeing you here!
