Niseko hits 4 metre base mark!
Late February saw Niseko Annupuri’s base at the top of the mountain smash the four metre mark, currently standing at 4.3 metres, with the base at the bottom reaching a substantial two metres. This places Annupuri as one of the snowiest resorts in the world at present, which is especially impressive considering the large storms that have been hitting Europe recently. Niseko Village and Grand Hirafu are not far behind with base snow at the top of the mountain reaching 3.8 metres and 3.6 metre’s respectively. Needless to say, the skiing has been epic this season, with an unusually high amount of bluebird days which usually have followed massive dumps of snow. The varied weather has provided snow-lovers with a variety of conditions. Experts and intermediate’s have been able to perfect their technique on the varied terrain and snow, while beginners have faced all the conditions on offer around the world in one resort, learning on both powdery and packed snow. Niseko definitely does have everything on offer.
