November 2008 Volume 1, number 1
Welcome!

It’s official, there is snow on the ground at Country Resort.  With that in mind, we thought it was time to update you on a few of the goings on in our community.

Update from “Powder Paradise”

Construction Continues

Construction at Country Resort Construction is finishing on the most recent phase of Country Resort and we are looking forward to having the extra chalets around and all the interesting guests that are sure to grace us with their presence.

Also, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who participated in our recent survey.  The feedback has been extremely helpful as we move into the new season and the comments have been very complimentary.  There are still a few folks that have not responded. If you wish your opinions to be heard, you can still fill out the survey. It takes only 4 minutes and can be accessed through the previous email.  If you have accidentally deleted the email or feel you didn’t receive it, feel free to email me and I will send you a fresh link.

Summer’s gone…Let it snow!

That’s right, Annupuri, Higashiyama and Grand Hirafu/Hanazono open to the public on the 22nd of November for the first runs of the season. With the snow coming one week earlier than last year, the whole town is gearing up for a great winter.  If you are thinking of a last minute escape, call or email Hayley Richards (hayley.richards@nisekoresortsgroup.com) and she will be sure that your chalet is ready for you and your guests. Just think, you could be the first down the mountain for the year.  In the spirit of Snow Fever, we want you to send us your pictures of the first skiing and boarding of the year.  We are going to collate them on our blog, www.nisekoresortsgroup.com/blog and have you vote for your favourite shots.  The earlier you add the photos, the better your chance to win.  See the blog for details.

Occupancy Update

We are experiencing our highest level of inquiries from potential guests. It seems like everyone is realising what you already know, Niseko is the place to be for winter sports.  We do still have vacancies across all the months however and we’d love your help.  If you know of anyone that wants to come to Niseko, all you need to do is tell them to email Hayley (hayley.richards@nisekoresortsgroup.com) and use your name in the process.  They will qualify for special rates and all care will be taken to put them in your chalet for their stay.

Service Announcement

Being in Niseko can sometimes be a confusing thing. Once you’ve been there a few times, it’s easy to find your way around, but it still nice to have an “insider” to talk to.  We now have that covered.  Starting 1 December, owners at Country Resort and their guests will have the use of a concierge service that operates 7 days a week. They are there to make sure you enjoy your holiday as much as possible; whether it is recommending the best onsen for the post-ski soak or getting you a table at the restaurant in Hirafu you heard about on the slopes, they are your first call. A crucial part of their job is to introduce themselves to the owners and guests on arrival, but we can give you a sneak preview.  The team consists of Anna Newland (anna.newland@nisekoresortsgroup.com) and Alex Rowe (alex.rowe@nisekoresortsgroup.com). We will go futher into their background in the next newsletter and are extremely excited to see them in Niseko.

If you have any special requests on your upcoming trip to Niseko, feel free to contact them pre-arrival. They can organize whatever you need and you can focus on the fun.

Niseko Resorts Group News

New Project ExteriorWe’re in expansion mode.  While the workmen finish up on Country Resort for the year, we will be launching our latest project.  The details of this project are not yet public, but we want you to be the first to know. We will be introducing our latest development, a low-rise, state-of-the-art apartment block in Hirafu Village very soon.  As a member of the Niseko Resorts Group family you know the value of purchasing and will be given first priority on this project. In addition, any friends you may want to purchase will be extended the same courtesy.  To take advantage of this opportunity and learn more, contact Steve Reck directly on steve.reck@nisekoresortsgroup.com.

Season Forecast – Snow, Snow and Snow

By all accounts 2008/2009 will be one of the best seasons for snow in recent memory.  We will definitely say hello when we see you in the village or on the Mountain and hope you do the same.  You can check up on us any time at www.nisekoresortsgroup.com.

NRG First Snow Picture

Niseko is buzzing because this week it finally happens, the official opening of the mountain.  Are you going to be one of the first to take advantage of this? If so, be sure to take your camera with you for some action shots.  When you have your favourites picked out either email them to us or upload them to this blog directly. It will be helpful to have the date function turned on because the first photo of the year will win a special prize.   It doesn’t stop there. Share your photos here and we will be voting on our favourites. The winners and their prizes will be announced here so check back often. To get things started, we have uploaded our picture of the first snow on the Mountain this year. Thanks to Michael Vaeth from our good friends at Niseko RDC for sharing it.

It’s not too late to join in the opening festivities.  If you haven’t yet sorted out your accommodation for your Niseko trip, contact our reservations Queen, Hayley Richards (hayley.richards@nisekoresortsgroup.com) for our best last minute deals.
